Ullal: Following the stabbing of two BJP workers near Boliyar, BJP and Hindu activists surrounded the Konaje police station late at night on Sunday, questioning the police’s inaction and demanding immediate arrests.

The BJP Gram Samiti of Boliyar had organized a victory rally from Boliyar to Dharmanagar to celebrate the NDA government’s swearing-in at the Centre.

During the rally, a group near the Boliyar Mosque had allegedly told the rally participants not to play DJ music, leading to a verbal altercation. After the victory celebration, Harish Poojari from Dharmanagar and his brother-in-law Nandan were attacked by the group with knives while they were heading towards Boliyar on their bike.

Following the incident, District BJP President Satish Kumpala and leader Santosh Rai Boliyar visited the Konaje police station late at night.

At the same time, a large group of BJP activists gathered at the station, expressing anger against the police. They alleged that the police only recorded videos of the altercation near the Boliyar Mosque and did not take any action.

The activists demanded immediate arrests based on the video footage.

The police assured the BJP leaders of swift action, after which the activists dispersed peacefully.

Ten Detained; Video Goes Viral

Konaje police have reportedly detained over ten suspects in connection with the incident. CCTV footage of the rally participants chanting slogans and being attacked near the Boliyar Mosque has gone viral on social media.
