Malpe: Three fall sick after eating wild mushrooms

Three persons fell ill after consuming wild mushrooms found growing by the roadside in Thottam near Malpe here.

The affected individuals have been identified as daily wage labourer Annappa (45), Sujatha (25), and Sangeetha (7), all natives of Gadag.

While returning from work, they picked wild mushrooms growing by the roadside and consumed them raw at home. Subsequently, all three fell severely ill. Their family members took them to a local hospital for treatment.

Upon learning of the situation, social worker Ishwar Malpe and his team immediately went to the spot and arranged for an ambulance to shift them to the Ajjarkad District Hospital in Udupi.

The trio are reported to be safe.
