Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced that district panchayat and taluk panchayat elections will be held soon.
Responding with a smile to questions about the timing of the elections, he assured, “We will hold the district-taluk panchayat elections as soon as possible.”
No Revenge Politics
Addressing allegations from former Chief Minister Yediyurappa, Siddaramaiah firmly denied any involvement in revenge politics. Yediyurappa had accused the Congress of targeting him, to which Siddaramaiah responded, “The BJP has filed complaints against Rahul Gandhi, DK Shivakumar, and myself. What should we call this? If action is taken, they say we are targeting them.”
Reiterating his stance, Siddaramaiah stated, “I have already said that we will not engage in revenge politics. I am saying it again today: we don’t do revenge politics. Hate does not take revenge.”
Criticism of BJP Tactics
Reacting to writer Arundhathi Roy’s comments, Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP’s methods, claiming it is in their culture to intimidate and threaten. “This is why the BJP did not secure a clear majority,” he noted.
Discussing recent statements by RSS leaders, Siddaramaiah remarked that the BJP’s decline to 240 seats was attributed to arrogance. “The BJP is the mask of the RSS. No matter what they do, they cannot win more seats in South India,” he asserted.
NEET Examination Controversy
On the issue of irregularities in the NEET exam, Siddaramaiah called for the cancellation of the current examination and for it to be conducted again. He also emphasized that grace marks should not be awarded in the examination, highlighting the need for a fair and transparent process.
