Mangaluru: Council member C.T. Ravi expressed indignation over Assembly Speaker UT Khader’s remarks following an attack on BJP workers by Muslims during a BJP victory celebration in Boliyar. Khader had stated that individuals incited by being called “agents of Pakistan” should be exiled to Pakistan and emphasized that there should be no interference from outsiders.
Speaking to reporters, Ravi questioned the interpretation of the term “agents of Pakistan,” asking why some people perceived it as referring to themselves. He also stressed the importance of understanding the meaning behind the chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
Rising Violence Under State Government
Ravi further criticized the state government, pointing out that since its inception 13 months ago, there has been a significant increase in murders and suicides. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, over 500 murders and more than 700 suicides have occurred in just four months. Ravi accused the government of fostering an environment where criminals feel no fear and adopting a lenient stance towards communal issues.
