Kasaragod: Married woman elopes with lover; reunited with family after police counseling

Kasaragod: A 26-year-old married woman who eloped with her lover, leaving behind her four-year-old son and husband, returned home to her family after being counseled by the police.

The woman, a resident of Karindalam Chavakkad had eloped with a 24-year-old man from Payyannur on Sunday. The young man worked as a cable TV operator.

Nileshwaram police, investigating the complaint lodged about the wife’s disappearance, visited the lover’s house but found that the couple was not there. Their phones were switched off.

Upon contacting a phone number found at the house, they were informed that the couple was in Parassinikkadavu. The duo were brought to the police station and counseled following which they changed their minds.

The woman was produced before court and she stated that she would return to her husband and son.
