Uppinangady: Juvenile detained for aunt’s murder

Uppinangady Rural police have detained a minor in connection with the death of a 37-year-old woman near Perne here.
The deceased Hemavati, a resident of Darkhazu in Biliyuru village near Perne was found dead on Sunday night.
Her husband, Vittal Pai alias Shailesh, from Mani village in Bantwal Taluk, had filed a complaint with the police expressing suspicion over her death. During the investigation, police determined it to be a murder.
The accused is a class 10 student and son of Hemavati’s elder sister. It was revealed that he was staying at her house that night. The boy allegedly behaved inappropriately with his aunt, and when she resisted, he strangled her to death.
Uppinangady Rural Inspector Ravi said that a murder case has been registered and the juvenile has been detained.
