Kudremukh: Only 300 trekkers allowed per day, online booking mandatory

Mangaluru: Due to the overwhelming number of trekkers flocking to Kudremukh and Netravati Peak in Kudremukh National Park, the number of trekkers allowed has been scientifically determined. A maximum of 300 trekkers will be permitted.

Trekkers must book their trek through the website www.kudremukhanationalpark.in. An individual can book for up to three people. All bookings must be done online; no offline bookings are available.

On weekends, normal bookings are allowed for 200 trekkers.

Since local villagers do not get opportunities on weekends, a special provision has been made for 50 local villagers to book separately online. They can register by contacting the Kudremukh and Belthangady Range Forest Officer (Wildlife) and obtaining a booking login ID.

Additionally, 50 tourists can book on a ‘Tatkal’ basis exclusively for weekends. This last-minute booking system is set up in the software to facilitate trekkers who decide at the last minute. The online ‘Tatkal’ booking opens every Thursday afternoon.

For other days, bookings are available for 300 trekkers. Bookings for the trek can be made for the next 30 days from the 25th of each month via the online system. This new system will be effective from June 25.
