Hosanagara: A Bengaluru tourist was washed away at the Yadur Abbi Falls in Hosanagara taluk on Sunday.

Vinod (26), an employee from Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, and a resident of Ballari, slipped and fell into the waters at Yadur Abbi Falls. He is feared drowned.

City station PSI Ramesh and the fire brigade arrived at the scene and launched a search and rescue operation.

Vinod, along with 12 other young men, had come on a weekend trip and visited Abbi Falls after touring the Kodachadri hills.

Last year, another tourist had also drowned, leading to the authorities blocking the path to Yadur Abbi Falls and restricting access. However, the group parked their TT vehicle and walked 1.5 kilometres to reach the falls.
