Kalaburagi: A bomb threat email was received by the Kalaburagi airport authorities, indicating that an explosive device had been placed in the airport’s terminal building.

The bomb disposal squad has arrived at the airport and is conducting extensive search operations. Both the bomb disposal squad and security forces are thoroughly searching and inspecting the premises.

A thorough search was also conducted on the Star Air flight that arrived this morning from Bengaluru. The flight was parked away from the terminal building as a precaution.

Amidst the bomb scare, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda arrived in Kalaburagi on the flight from Bengaluru.

Flights returning to Bengaluru have been cancelled. All passengers have been evacuated from the airport due to the bomb threat, creating an atmosphere of tension among passengers and airport staff.

Small Scale Industries Minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, who was supposed to travel to Bengaluru, along with several others, left the airport and headed towards Kalaburagi city.
