Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and other accused are currently in judicial custody in the Renuka Swamy murder case, with ongoing investigations.
Renuka Swamy, a resident of Chitradurga, was reportedly sending obscene messages on social media to Pavithra Gowda, a close associate of Darshan. Allegedly, he was kidnapped, tortured in a shed, and brutally murdered, with his body discarded in a drain.
Initially, the murder appeared to be related to a financial dispute. Two accused surrendered to the police, admitting their involvement. Upon intense questioning, they confessed that the murder was carried out under Darshan’s instructions.
Following detailed investigations, 18 people, including prime accused Pavithra Gowda (A1) and Darshan (A2), were arrested. Currently, 14 of the accused are under judicial custody.
This high-profile case has garnered significant attention nationwide. Recently, a promo for an episode based on this incident was released on television.
The episode titled “Dead Devil Devadas” from the crime show ‘Shantham Papam’ will depict a storyline resembling the Renuka Swamy case. The promo features a wealthy man being arrested for murder despite influential pressure. The storyline includes a rich man involved in an extramarital affair and a man harassing his lover with obscene messages on social media. The wealthy man uses his influence to capture, torture, and kill the harasser.
The promo showcases scenes of the pregnant wife’s anguish and the affair’s background, drawing parallels to the Renuka Swamy case, as commented by viewers.
‘Shantham Papam’ is a series based on real-life crimes, airing from Monday to Friday at 10:30 PM on a private channel.
