Uppinangady: 2 KSRTC buses and a truck collide in serial accident on NH

Uppinangady: Two KSRTC buses and a tempo truck were involved in a serial accident on the National Highway near Gundya in Shiradi village, causing a one-hour traffic halt on Saturday.

The incident took place when the Airavata bus, traveling from Puttur to Bengaluru, attempted to overtake the goods tempo.

The tempo driver lost control and collided with an oncoming Rajahamsa bus, and subsequently falling into a ditch beside the highway. At the same time, the Airavat bus collided with the Rajahamsa bus, blocking the highway.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities. However, a few passengers sustained minor injuries.

Local residents and police conducted timely operations, and traffic on the highway resumed after one hour. A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station.
