Sullia: A labourer was rescued after getting trapped under mud after the soil collapsed on him while at work on Saturday evening in Panja.

The incident occurred near Addathodu in Panja, where laborers from Kerala were filling soil around the outer side of a well ring. Suddenly, the soil beside the ring collapsed, and one of the workers was buried up to his shoulders.

Those present at the site, with the help of a JCB, quickly removed the soil covering him and rescued him. He was then taken to a private hospital in Sullia by ambulance.

The worker has survived without any life-threatening injuries.
