Holehonnuru: Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy offered his condolences and pledged to provide necessary support and ensure a better life for the families affected by the tragic road accident near Gundenahalli Cross in Byadagi taluk, Haveri. He visited the homes of the deceased in Yemmehatti village, Shivamogga district, on Sunday to offer condolences.

Among the victims was Sharannappa’s son, Arun, who has a three-month-old baby. Minister Kumaraswamy assured his wife of a government job. He also promised to build a house and support the education of Parashuram’s children, who are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Shivamogga.

Minister Kumaraswamy highlighted the need for special care for Arpita, a survivor with disabilities, living in the home of Asha worker Vishalakshamma. He committed to providing lifelong support and necessary financial assistance for her well-being.

Expressing deep sorrow, the Minister prayed for strength for the bereaved families, stating that such tragic incidents should never occur. He emphasized the importance of caution and safety, noting that despite our best efforts, fate often takes its own course. He advised young people to avoid speeding, even on good roads, as the risk to life outweighs any time saved.

Referring to a tragedy in Hadonahalli a few years ago, where 12 people died during Ganapati immersion after a coracle capsized, Kumaraswamy recalled visiting the village with MLA Sharada Puryanaik to console the affected families. He acknowledged the impact of the recent accident on Wemmehatti village and stressed the importance of resilience and careful driving to prevent such tragedies.

The Minister mentioned that he would return to Yemmehatti to address the villagers’ concerns, despite his urgent departure due to a Parliament session the next day. He promised to make a sincere effort to resolve their issues during his next visit.
