Kushtagi: The driver of a sleeper coach bus was killed while 22 passengers sustained injuries after the bus collided with the road safety barrier and overturned near a petrol station on the Kushtagi-Hospet four-lane National Highway-50, late night on Thursday, June 4.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshmana (32), a resident of Arakeri village in Bagalkote district.
The bus was headed towards Bengaluru from Bagalkote. The mishap took place some 3 km from Kushtagi and the injured were treated at the Kushtagi Government Hospital
The accident is said to have been caused due to overspeeding and reckless driving.
A case has been registered at Kushtagi police station.
