Mangaluru: CCB Police arrest man for MDMA trafficking

Mangaluru: An individual involved in the sale of the banned drug MDMA, CCB police said on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, Mangaluru CCB police identified and intercepted a bike in the Ullalbail area.
The bike rider, identified as Mohammad Safwan (32), a resident of Bannuru Village, Puttur Taluk, was found in possession of the banned substance.
The police said they seized 36 grams of MDMA, valued at Rs. 90,000, along with a mobile phone, a digital weighing scale, and the bike. The total value of the seized items is estimated at Rs. 2,05,500.
A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
The accused had reportedly purchased MDMA from Bengaluru with the intent to sell it to the public and students in the city for illicit profit. The investigation continues as several others are believed to be involved in this drug trafficking network, police added.
