B’luru: Student suffers electric shock while charging mobile; dies

In a tragic incident a student lost his life after suffering an electric shock while charging a mobile phone here at his P.G. accommodation under Basaveshwaranagar Police Station limits.
The deceased, Shrinivas (23) was originally from Bidar and had come to Bengaluru a month ago to pursue a computer course. He was residing in P.G. accommodation in Rajajinagar.
The incident took place around 8 PM on Friday night. Reportedly he went to the restroom and returned to charge his mobile phone with wet hands. At that moment, he suffered an electric shock and lost consciousness, falling to the ground.
His friends found him in an unconscious state and immediately rushed him to the nearby hospital. Upon examination, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Shrinivas’ body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem.
Basaveshwaranagar Police Station registered a case of accidental death and further investigations are underway.
