Holiday declared for schools and PU Colleges in 5 taluks of Uttara Kannada on July 8

Karwar: Due to heavy rainfall in the coastal region of Uttara Kannada district, the district administration has declared a holiday for schools and PUCs in 5 taluks of the district.

Anganwadis, schools, and pre-university (PU) colleges in Bhatkal, Honnavar, Kumta, Ankola, and Karwar taluks on July 8 (Monday) for the safety of the students.

District Commissioner Lakshmi Priya K declared the holiday on Sunday evening as a precautionary measure.

Continuous rainfall has been reported in the coastal areas of the district, and the Indiam Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain on Monday as well.
