Udupi: Torrential rain causes flooding in Gundibailu; students rescued

Udupi: Heavy rain lashing the district has flooded the Gundibailu area, causing water to inundate the connecting roads and disrupting traffic.

The Gundibailu Padigaru road is completely submerged. Water entered a PG building housing students and the fire brigade rushed to rescue the trapped students.

There are concerns that some more residents might be trapped in the area, and the fire department’s rescue operations were ongoing at the time of publication.

Due to the heavy rain, roads have been flooded, and the fire brigade is using boats to rescue students trapped in the building. Many houses are also in the affected area, and efforts to rescue those trapped are in full swing.
