Mangaluru: The Kannada movie ‘Sanketh,’ which showcases the social and mental pressures faced by individuals, will be released across the state on July 26.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday at Press Club here, the film’s director Jyotsna K. Raj said the film assays the struggles and “descent into madness” of a person regarding marriage and children. “The movie revolves around a young man who believes that his life is complete only when he gets married and has children. However, a few years into the marriage, when conventional methods of having children fail, the distressed man sets out to explore unconventional methods. The movie depicts how he endangers the lives of everyone around him. It is a unique attempt in Kannada cinema,” Jyotsna said.

Actress Chaitra Shetty mentioned that Jyotsna K. Raj has handled the editing, sound design, and direction.

The cast includes Vicky Rao, Mohan Sheni, Roopashree Varkadi, Rahul Amin, Niriksha Shetty, Sadashiva Amin, Niriksha Rani, Rajit Kadri, Meghana Rakshita, among others.

The trailer has already garnered significant attention, raising high expectations for the film.

Director Jyotsna K. Raj, an accomplished editor and sound designer, hails from Kumble in Kerala. In 2018, she attempted to establish a theater group and gained extensive experience in cinema. Raj Karthik has done the cinematography, and Prakash V. Rao penned the lyrics. The film has been made by a young team, Chaitra added.
