Manipal: Member of Parliament (MP) Kota Srinivas Poojary has instructed highway authorities and engineers to expedite the completion of the Santhekatte Vehicular Overpass project and ensure continuous special supervision by district and assistant district commissioners.
Responding to the ‘Udayavani’ campaign and the related public grievances, MP Poojary held an extensive meeting with officials at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday afternoon to gather complete information.
Initially, Assistant Commissioner Mamatha Devi G.S. held a meeting with officials in her office and asked them to provide appropriate responses to the reports published in ‘Udayavani.’
Later, a meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s court hall, where Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vidyakumari and Assistant Commissioners directed officials to patch the road immediately and keep a close watch on the work.
The MP noted that previous instructions given during a site visit a month ago had not been followed, resulting in large potholes and daily difficulties for motorists. He cautioned the officials and engineers against using the excuse of rain repeatedly.
