Mangaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts for the next two days. Accordingly, a red alert has been declared in these districts for July 18 and 19.

On Wednesday, the districts experienced continuous rainfall throughout the day. The weather department has forecasted that heavy rains will continue for the next two days.

A red alert predicts that rainfall totals are expected to exceed 204.5 mm in a 24-hour period. This indicates extremely severe weather conditions that could disrupt transportation, power supply, and pose a risk to life.
