A fire broke out in a KSRTC Airavat bus near Halegate on July 18.
Passengers were safely evacuated. They later boarded another bus to reach their destinations.
The fire was controlled with the help of locals.
The bus was traveling from Bengaluru to Mangaluru when a technical fault in the air conditioning system at the rear of the bus caused the fire.
Upon noticing the smoke, the driver immediately stopped the bus. The driver, conductor, and locals used water collected by the roadside to extinguish the fire.
