Gurupura: Woman dies after stepping on electric wire

In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old girl lost her life after coming into contact with a fallen electric wire in Gurupura, near Bajpe here on Friday morning.

The deceased, Ashwini Shetty, was the daughter of Harish Shetty, a resident of Kallakalambi. She was a CA student at a college in Mangaluru.

The incident happened when Harish Shetty took his cattle to graze in the field, followed by two of the family’s dogs. Ashwini went after the dogs to bring them back and came into contact with a fallen electric wire, suffering severe injuries.

Despite receiving medical treatment, Ashwini succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
