Kumble: Traders and the public in Kumble and nearby areas have raised concern over the circulation of toy currency notes that closely resemble real ones.

Within the past week, traders in Kalathur and Bambrana reported that they had been deceived with fake currency notes in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 200.

These frauds usually occur during peak hours in shops when customer traffic is high.

The counterfeit notes are identical to genuine notes in appearance, including the image of Gandhi and the size of the notes. The only difference is that it mentions the text “Full of Fun” printed in place of “Reserve Bank of India”.

Reports suggest that these fake notes are being distributed along with Chinese candies.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
