Puttur: ‘Missing’ youth’s body recovered

Puttur: The body of a youth, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Gauri river has been recovered from near the bridge here on Sunday, June 21
Thedeceased Sanmith T. (21), son of Chandra Gowda of Tekkittadi in Kudmaru village was an employee at the Mahindra showroom near the Industrial Estate in Mukrampady.
Sanmit had been missing since the night of June 19, and his scooter and other belongings were found near the Gauri river bank.
A team of police and fire brigade personnel conducted search operations in the river starting from Saturday morning.
On June 21, Sunday, the State Disaster Response Force personnel arrived at the scene to participate in the operation. During that time, the fire brigade team had successfully located the body.
The body has been kept at Puttur Government Hospital and will be handed over to the family after post-mortem examination, according to police officials.
