Davanagere: Catholic priest killed in road accident

In a tragic accident between a car and a transport bus, Christian priest Fr. Anthony Peter (51) from Shikaripura, Shivamogga district, passed away.

The accident took place on Tuesday on the Chinnikatte Savalanga Road in Nyamati taluk when a KSRTC bus and a car collided head-on.

Fr. Anthony Peter, along with Stephen, was travelling from Shivamogga to Shikaripura in a car. Stephen, who was travelling with him, sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Shivamogga.

Fr. Anthony Peter served as a priest in the Catholic Christian community of Shivamogga and was the parish priest of the St Theresa Little Flower of Jesus Church in Shikaripura.
