Udupi: Udupi District Commissioner Vidya Kumari has suspended Arun Kumar, the Project Director of Udupi Nirmiti Kendra, in connection with the Parashurama Theme Park scandal in Karkala taluk’s Bailur.
The suspension comes as the case is currently under investigation, and there are concerns that Arun Kumar might interfere with the inquiry. Assistant Project Director P. Divakar has been appointed to take his place.
The scandal involves allegations that the Parashurama Theme Park, constructed at Umikal Hill in Bailur, Erlapadi village of Karkala taluk, was inaugurated without completing the construction and without handing it over to the concerned department. Additionally, there are accusations regarding the quality of the construction. The case is being investigated by the COD and a commission led by Justice H.N. Nagamohan Das.
A few days ago, the Udupi District Congress held a protest in front of Vidhana Soudha against Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar.
Nallur Krishna Shetty, President of the Parashurama Theme Park Protection Committee, stated that the suspension of the Udupi Nirmiti Kendra Project Director is a victory for the public opinion of the Karkala taluk residents.
