Today, we honor these heroes through various monuments and memorials. Let’s take a look at some of the most important places where we remember these warriors.

Dras War Memorial / Kargil War Memorial

The Dras War Memorial, also known as the Kargil War Memorial, is located in Dras, a town in Jammu and Kashmir. This memorial was built by the Indian Army to honor the soldiers who lost their lives in the war.

A big wall here lists the names of all the martyrs. The Amar Jawan Jyoti, or the eternal flame, burns brightly as a tribute to their sacrifices. Every year on Kargil Vijay Diwas, ceremonies are held here, and people come from all over the country to pay their respects.
