Moodbidri: Five alumni of Alva’s Education Foundation, who completed their education under the foundation’s sports scholarship program, are set to represent India at the Olympics Games starting July 26 in Paris.

The athletes include Poovamma R, Santosh Kumar Tamilarasan, Subha Venkatesan, Mijo Chacko Kurian in the 4×400 relay, and Praveen C. in the triple jump event.

Dr. M. Mohan Alva, the founder of the Alva’s Education Foundation, established the ‘Ekalavya Sports Club’ in 1984, even before the foundation was started, to offer free education to sports talents. This initiative was further strengthened by the foundation’s free sports scholarship policy, motivating athletes to achieve greater heights.

Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of the foundation, expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the alumni.
