Heavy rains and winds: School holiday declared for July 27 in Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu

Chikkamagaluru: The district continues to experience heavy rain and strong winds. Consequently, the district administration has declared a holiday for Anganwadi, primary, and high schools in six taluks of the Malnad region on Saturday, July 27.

As a precautionary measure due to the severe winds across the district, schools in Chikkamagaluru, Mudigere, Kalasa, Sringeri, Koppa, and NR Pura taluks will remain closed. The district administration has advised the public to take necessary precautions.

In Kodagu district, the heavy rain continues unabated, leading the district administration to declare a holiday for all educational institutions from Anganwadi to PU colleges on Saturday, July 27. Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja has issued an order declaring the holiday.
