Moodbidri: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old youth died from gas emissions in the bathroom of a residential complex in Kottebagilu, Moodbidri, on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sharik, son of late Ansar of Kottebagilu.

Case details:

Sharik had gone for a bath but did not come out for a long time. When his brother went to check on him, he found Sharik had succumbed to the gas emissions.

It was noted that Sharik often spent a considerable amount of time in the bathroom, which is why the family did not immediately suspect anything was wrong. However, due to the lack of ventilation and the buildup of chemicals from the gas geyser, Sharik was unable to escape.

Sharik was a first-year degree student and was known to be dedicated to his studies.
