Red Alert: Holiday declared for schools in Chikkamagaluru and Kasaragod on July 31

Chikkamagaluru/Kasaragod: In response to the heavy rainfall in the Malnad region, the District Commissioner of Chikkamagaluru, Meena Nagaraj, has declared a holiday for all Anganwadi centers, government and private schools, high schools, PU colleges, and degree colleges in six taluks on July 31.
As a precautionary measure, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in Mudigere, Kalasa, Sringeri, Koppa, N.R. Pura, and Chikkamagaluru taluks due to continuous heavy rain.
The order specifies that this holiday does not apply to educational institutions in the arid taluks of Kadur, Tarikere, and Ajjampura.

In the bordering district of Kasaragod, heavy rains have led to the issuance of a red alert. District Collector K. Inbasekar has announced a holiday on Wednesday, July 31, for all colleges, state syllabus schools, CBSE schools, ICSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Anganwadi centers, and madrasas as a precautionary measure. The District Commissioner clarified in a press release that there will be no changes to any pre-scheduled examinations.
