Heavy rain alert: Schools, PUCs in Udupi get holiday for Aug 1

Udupi: A holiday has been declared for all schools and PU Colleges in Udupi district on Thursday, August 1.

A red alert has been issued for Udupi district, cautioning about extremely heavy rain.

As a precautionary measure, the district administration has declared a holiday for Anganwadis, primary, high schools, and pre-university colleges.

The holiday does not apply to ITIs, engineering and degree colleges, which will function as usual, the notification added.

The district administration has advised residents to remain vigilant.
