Holiday declared for schools and PUCs in Dakshina Kannada for Aug 1

Mangaluru: Schools and PU Colleges in Dakshina Kannada will remain closed on Thursday, August 1, as the district administration has extended the holiday declared due to heavy downpours.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner issued a notification to this effect on Wednesday. According to it, a holiday has been declared for all Anganwadis, primary, high schools, and pre-university colleges in the district for August 1.

An orange alert has been issued for the DK district for Thursday, the notification added.

Schools and PUCs were closed on Wednesday as a precaution against inclement weather conditions.

The district administration has advised residents to remain vigilant.
