Parashurama Statue controversy: BJP protests accusing Congress leaders of harassment

Udupi: District BJP leaders held a protest alleging harassment of the sculptor of the Parashurama Statue on “baseless accusations”.
The protestors, led by district president Kishore Kumar Kundapur, congregated near the Udupi DC’s office on
BJP alleged that Congress is making baseless accusations regarding the Parashurama Theme Park in Karkala.
Addressing the crowd, Kishore Kumar Kundapur said that the Congress’s style of politics is not new to the people. Congress does not believe in history and religion and is making baseless allegations against MLA Sunil Kumar.
Why was Congress leader Uday Kumar Shetty present when the police raided the godown in Kengeri where the parts of the statue were seized, he asked.
After the protest, a memorandum was submitted to the DC demanding appropriate action against the harassment by Congress leaders.
