The Mysuru Railway Division, in a press release, informed that train services between Bengaluru and Mangaluru stand fully cancelled till August 8.

Train services were affected due to a landslide near the railway track between Yedekumari – Kadagaravalli stations in Sakleshpur Taluk. As many as 12 train services, between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, were cancelled from July 27.

In view of the soil erosion between Yedekumari – Kadagaravalli Ghat & the restoration work, the train services are canceled until August 8, the release stated.

Construction of a retaining wall is underway at the landslide site, with track repairs almost complete. A goods engine has been test-run on the repaired track. However, further safety procedures are necessary before resuming passenger train services. Hence, train operations will remain suspended until August 8, clarified railway officials.
