Channapatna: Relatives murder youth, Dump body by roadside, surrender to police

Channapatna: A shocking incident has occurred in Doddahalli village of the taluk, where relatives allegedly murdered a youth and dumped his body by the roadside.

The victim has been identified as Ranjit Kumar (29) from Doddahalli village.

The dispute began over cutting grass in his field. On Monday evening (August 5), Ranjit had an altercation with his uncle Nagaraju, Mangalamma, and their son Sunil Kumar. Following the argument, they attacked Ranjit with a machete, killing him on the spot. They then dragged his body to the roadside and disposed of it.

Later that night, the perpetrators went to the police and confessed to the murder.

The accused are in police custody. Channapatna Rural Police officers and forensic experts visited the crime scene, examined it, and sent the body to the Channapatna Government Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. Further actions are being taken.
