A young woman who had been missing from her home in Bejai for a week has been located at a man’s house in Karkala.
Callista Ferrao (18), a resident of Bejai, went missing on July 30 without informing her family. Despite extensive searches by her family, she could not be found, prompting her parents to file a missing persons report at the Barke Police Station.
Upon receiving the complaint, Barke police initiated an operation to locate the young woman. Reviewing CCTV footage revealed that she had left in an auto-rickshaw. Additionally, it was discovered that she had a habit of playing the online game PUBG. Based on this information, the police operation led them to a house in Gajendra Bail village, Karkala, where the young woman was found.
When the police team reached the location, they brought both the young woman and the man to the police station for questioning.
During the interrogation, the pair admitted to being in a romantic relationship. It was also observed that the young woman appeared mentally unstable and incapable of making sound decisions. Since she refused to stay with her parents, she was sent to a rehabilitation center.
