Bengaluru: Pratap Simha, the former Member of Parliament for Kodagu-Mysore, has expressed his intention to enter state politics. He announced that he will formally enter the Legislative Assembly in the coming days.

In an open discussion during an interview with “Udayavani’s” “Nera nere,” Pratap Simha stated, “I may not be in Vidhana Soudha right now, but I am very much involved in state politics.”

He added, “Recently, I have been speaking logically and strongly about state issues. Earlier, I did not speak much about state matters. Now, I am already in state politics and will be heading to Vidhana Soudha soon.”

Contesting from old Mysore region

Pratap Simha mentioned that he has not yet made any preparations regarding his constituency. “The decision on the constituency will be made by Goddess Chamundeshwari. There will be a reorganization of constituencies soon, with an increase of 70-80 seats in the state, and a 33% reservation will be applied. If the government falls and elections are held due to the MUDA scandal involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, I will certainly be in Old Mysore,” he hinted.

He further stated, “The decision for me to contest from the Kodagu-Mysore Lok Sabha constituency was blessed by senior members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). I became an MP under their guidance. Without the RSS, the BJP is nothing. The BJP is like the banyan tree nurtured by the RSS, which has the strength to guide the party back to its roots. I am confident that those who sent me to the Lok Sabha will also send me to the Legislative Assembly.”

Entry through the front door

Pratap Simha clarified that the ticket for the Kodagu-Mysore constituency has been given to someone else. “Since I am not contesting there, I will remain here. I entered the Lok Sabha through the front door and will enter the Legislative Assembly the same way,” he stated.
