In a heartwarming example of love transcending borders, a young man from Mangaluru and a woman from Brazil fell in love and tied the knot in a traditional Indian ceremony at Dr. T.V. Ramana Pai Hall here.
The couple, Aditya and Tatyane, were married with the blessings of their parents and elders, following the GSB (Gaud Saraswat Brahmin) traditions.
Aditya, a resident of Karangalpady, moved to Brazil eight years ago for an IT job. He met Tatyane in 2019, and their friendship gradually blossomed into love. In 2023, the couple informed their families about their relationship and received their blessing for the marriage.
Tatyane, who grew up in Western culture, embraced Indian traditions by applying mehndi on her hands, adorning a bindi on her forehead, wearing flowers in her hair, and donning traditional Indian jewelry as she entered married life, taking vows in front of the sacred fire.
The wedding was attended by the bride’s parents, Atilio and Lucia, her sisters, Thais and Thalita, as well as the groom’s parents, Ramanand and Preetam Pai, along with other family members who all wished the couple a happy married life.
Tatyane shared, “Our languages, cultures, and traditions are different, but out of love for Aditya, I have been learning Indian culture for the past six months. India’s customs and traditions are unique, and I am excited to start a beautiful life with Aditya while embracing this rich culture.”
