Mangaluru: A Hindu student from a private college in Mangaluru, who had gone missing, has reportedly married a youth from another religion in Kerala.

The student, identified as Vismaya, married Ashfaq, a resident of Kasaragod, Kerala. The matter had reached the Kerala High Court, which granted permission for the marriage.

Incident Details:

Vismaya’s father, Vinod, had lodged a complaint with the Pandeshwar police in Mangaluru, stating that his daughter was abducted by Muhammad Ashfaq from Ullal on June 30. The complaint alleged that Ashfaq and his associates kidnapped Vismaya with the intent of forcibly converting her.

Vinod further alleged in the complaint that Ashfaq had already been married once and had over 15 criminal cases registered against him.

Following the incident, Vismaya’s father tearfully appealed to the media and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders, pleading for his daughter’s rescue.

The VHP termed the incident another case of “Love Jihad” and demanded a thorough investigation. The police subsequently located Vismaya and sent her to a counselling center. However, it has now been revealed that Ashfaq took her to Kerala, where they got married.
