Emphasizing the importance of honoring the national flag by hoisting it with respect and patriotism Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Anand CL urged citizens not to use national flags made of plastic during Independence Day celebrations.
Due to the statewide ban on the production and sale of plastic flags, citizens are urged not to use national flags made of plastic during Independence Day celebrations. He further stressed the use of flags made from khadi cloth, as mandated, and warned that any violations of the Indian Flag Code would be considered a punishable offense.
He reminded everyone that as part of the Independence Day celebrations, it is mandatory to use flags made from cloth in accordance with the Indian Flag Code. The flag must be hoisted with respect, without showing any form of dishonor. The flag should be hoisted after sunrise and must be lowered before sunset. Under no circumstances should the national flag remain hoisted at night, as per the guidelines issued in the official statement.
