Koppal: The challenging task of installing a temporary replacement gate at the 19th crest gate of the Tungabhadra Reservoir, which had broken earlier, is progressing. On Friday night, one of the five stoplogs was successfully installed.
The technical team achieved their first milestone, boosting their confidence. The remaining four stoplogs are expected to be installed by Saturday evening.
On Friday morning, the crane removed the obstructing skywalk and the iron beams used for gate maintenance. By the evening, the experts prepared for the installation of the temporary gate.
Late at night, Minister Shivraj Thangadagi performed a special prayer before the installation began.
