Former minister and MLA V Sunil Kumar has demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah resign immediately following the Governor’s directive to prosecute him in connection with the MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) scam. Kumar stated that Siddaramaiah should step down from all positions of power and vacate the Chief Minister’s office until the investigation is completed.
Speaking to reporters, Kumar criticized the Congress party for questioning the Governor’s decision and warned that they might also challenge the judiciary in the future. He emphasized that if Siddaramaiah does not resign, the BJP will launch protests across various districts within a day or two.
Kumar pointed out that Siddaramaiah had previously removed the Lokayukta and established the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when allegations were made against him. He accused the Chief Minister of undermining a constitutional office for personal gain.
The former minister also urged the Congress party not to make unnecessary remarks against the Governor, noting that the Governor’s decision was based on legal expert advice. He criticized the Congress’s stance, stating that they cannot claim the Constitution is good only when it suits them and question it when allegations are made against them.
Kumar concluded by warning that Karnataka could witness major protests in the coming days if Siddaramaiah does not resign.
