Vitla: Auto driver stabbed; Incident linked to dispute over a girl

Vitla: A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at Urimajalu Junction on Sunday morning. It has been reported that the incident stemmed from a dispute over a girl.

Sharif (38), an auto driver and resident of Urimajalu, sustained injuries from the stabbing and has been admitted to a hospital in Puttur. The accused, Hafiz alias Afi, a resident of Kariyadi, has been taken into custody by the Vitla police.

The incident took place when Sharif was conversing with others at Urimajalu Junction. The accused, Hafiz, arrived at the scene and initiated a verbal confrontation with Sharif. The argument escalated, leading Hafiz to stab Sharif with a knife, causing injuries.

The altercation reportedly arose due to an issue involving a girl.

A case has been registered at the Vitla police station regarding the incident.
