Let CM Siddaramaiah resign if he’s ‘clean’: Capt Brijesh Chowta

Mangaluru: Member of Parliament Brijesh Chowta has demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah resign from his post and face an investigation if he claims to be ‘clean-handed’ and free of corruption.

Speaking at a press conference in Mangaluru, Chowta said that if Siddaramaiah is cleared of all charges in the investigation, he could return as Chief Minister. However, making statements against the Governor, a constitutional authority, while holding a public office is inappropriate. BJP strongly condemns such behaviour, he added.

MLAs Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty and D. Vedavyas Kamath also spoke at the event, highlighting the damage to public property caused by stone-pelting on buses during the Congress protest in Mangaluru. They urged the Police Commissioner to file suo motu cases against everyone involved in the protest.

Additionally, they demanded the immediate arrest of MLC Ivan D’Souza for his remark suggesting that the Governor might have to leave the state overnight, similar to the situation faced by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
