IMD issues yellow alert for Karavali region on Aug 21

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the coastal region, indicating the possibility of heavy rainfall on August 21.

In Dakshina Kannada district, the intensity of rainfall was lower on Tuesday, with moderate rain reported in some areas. Similarly, in Udupi district, rainfall decreased on Tuesday, with a few areas experiencing light showers amid the cloudy-sunny weather conditions.

On Monday late night, light rain was reported in parts of Kundapur, Byndoor, Brahmavar, Udupi, and Hebri in Karkala.

In Mangaluru, the maximum temperature recorded was 30.9 degrees celsius, which is 1.8 degrees celsius higher than the average, while the minimum temperature was 24.7 degrees celsius, showing an increase of 1.6 degrees celsius above the usual level.
