‘Malnad Kambala’ in Shivamogga scheduled for April 19-20 next year

Mangaluru: After Bengaluru, the traditional coastal sport of Kambala is set to be held in Macheenahalli, Shivamogga, on April 19-20, 2025, announced Dr. Belapu Deviprasad Shetty, President of the Kambala District Committee.

Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Shetty mentioned that preparations are underway to organize the event with modern technology and strict discipline. Former Minister Eshwarappa and the Rotary Club have extended their full support, he said.

Kambala is a unique sport with traditional customs and rituals. Discussions have been held regarding the call for Kambala, water arrangements, and the accommodation of the buffaloes. Arrangements will be made for safe transport of the buffaloes from the coastal region, he added.

Kambala Discipline Committee President Bhaskar Kotian, Shivamogga Kambala Organizing Committee President Lokesh Shetty Rai, and others were present at the event.
