Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the police to register a case against Legislative Council member Ivan D’Souza for his controversial remarks.
On Wednesday, August 21, BJP Yuva Morcha activists gathered at the Barke police station, demanding the filing of an FIR.
The Morcha leaders held discussions with ACP Pratap Singh Thorat. The police stated that they still need to seek legal opinion. Hence, the Morcha has given another deadline, according to district president Nandan Mallya.
The Yuva Morcha has accused Ivan D’Souza of making provocative statements.
In Udupi district, BJP Yuva Morcha members also staged protests, expressing their anger against Ivan D’Souza and submitted a memorandum demanding action against him.
