Mangaluru: A couple in Mangaluru has raised concerns over a possible baby swap at Lady Goschen Hospital after doctors informed them that their newborn was born without eyesight three days after delivery. The parents, shocked by the news, have expressed doubts about the validity of the claim and suspect that their baby may have been swapped.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Nagraj, the father, said, “The doctors and hospital authorities are evasive and have not provided a satisfactory explanation. We request a COD investigation to ensure justice is served.” He also mentioned fears for their safety, urging authorities to provide adequate protection.
Yogesh Shetty Jeppu, President of the Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, stated that an FIR has been filed in connection with the case. He further mentioned that they have discussed the matter with Speaker U.T. Khader, who assured them of a high-level investigation.
The group has demanded that the case be handed over to the COD for investigation and warned that they would stage a protest led by the Tulunada Rakshana Vedike if there were delays. The press conference was attended by the baby’s maternal uncle, Santosh, and other members of the Tulunada Rakshana Vedike.
